SPIKALERT / USER GUIDE

Know your sticker.
Know how to read it.

Application, step-by-step instructions and limitations for your drink test sticker.

3 steps   /   Read in 1–3 minutes

A clear result does not guarantee that a drink is safe. This test checks for GHB, ketamine and flunitrazepam (FLZ/Rohypnol) only. If you suspect a drink has been tampered with, do not drink it, regardless of the result.

Before you start

  • Read the instructions supplied with your pack. Use this guide alongside the manufacturer’s label.
  • Make sure the three test spots are dry before applying your drink sample.
  • Do not use with milk, drinks containing milk products, cream or oily liquids.
  • Blue or red-purple drinks may produce a false positive result. Do not rely on a result from a drink with these colours.

Apply. Test. Read.

01

Attach the sticker

Remove the backing paper and attach the sticker to the back of your phone or another flat surface. Keep the test spots dry until you are ready to test.

02

Apply the drink

Apply a drop of the drink to the test area. The sample must cover all three test spots: FLZ, GHB and KET.

03

Wait and compare

Wait until the spots are dry, approximately 1–3 minutes. Compare each test spot with the reference on the actual sticker and the result guide below.

How to read the result

Read all three spots. The manufacturer identifies the following colour changes as a positive result:

Spot Substance checked Positive colour
GHB Gamma-hydroxybutyric acid Blue
KET Ketamine Blue
FLZ Flunitrazepam (Rohypnol) Red-purple
Any positive result: DO NOT DRINK.

Stop drinking and discard the suspect drink. A positive screening result is not conclusive proof that an illegal drug is present.

No positive colour change? The test has not shown the positive changes described above. This does not prove that the drink is free from drugs or safe to consume.

Unsure about a colour or result? Do not drink a suspect beverage. Do not interpret an unclear result as reassurance.

What this test cannot tell you

  • It is a screening aid for personal reference. A positive result must not be the sole basis for determining the presence of an illegal drug.
  • It checks three substances only. It does not screen for every possible drug or contaminant.
  • The drink itself can affect the reading. Blue and red-purple drinks may give a false positive. Milk products, drinks containing milk products, cream and oily liquids are unsuitable.
  • The procedure matters. Start with dry test spots, cover all three with the sample and allow them to dry for the stated reading time.
  • A clear result is not a safety guarantee. Discard any suspect drink even if the test does not show a positive change.

Quick answers

Can I read the test immediately?

Wait until dry, approximately 1–3 minutes, as stated on the manufacturer’s label.

Does the sample need to reach every spot?

Yes. It must cover all three test spots so that FLZ, GHB and KET can each be checked.

What if I feel unwell?

Stop drinking, tell someone you trust and seek immediate medical assistance. Do not wait for a test result if you feel unwell or believe you may have been drugged.
